A Catholic youth group has used their talents to brighten the world for people who need it most.
As a result of their recent benefit concert, the Catholic Youth Movement was able to donate fishing gears and boat engines to 34 fisherfolks in Puerto Princesa City.
The P240,000-worth of fishing equipments were given to beneficiaries during a ceremony held at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral Parish Hall on June 8.
“This is really a big help for an ordinary fisherman like me,” said Raul Paquibulang, one of the beneficiaries from the city’s Bagong Silang village.
Other beneficiaries came from coastal villages of Matahimik, Liwanag, Pagkakaisa, San Isidro, Bagong Sikat, and Bancao-Banco.
The funding for the project was sourced from the CYM’s benefit concert last May 17-18.
CYM is a community of young people established in Puerto Princesa in 1981.
