Knights of Columbus to strengthen membership, church activities

The newly-elected set of officers of the fourth degree of the Knights of Columbus, Don Jaime Deveyra Assembly of the Ferdinand Magellan Province has vowed to strengthen its membership and intensify participation in church activities in the Archdiocese of Palo and in other dioceses.
Eduardo Dapon, who was re-elected faithful navigator of the assembly, said the fraternal organization plans to grow the fourth degree membership of the Knights of Columbus and to actively support the Archdiocese of Palo under Archbishop John F. Du “for the glory of God.”
Dapon was re-elected as its leader with Alex Bentulan as faithful captain, Chris Navarro as faithful comptroller, Joselito Mendones as faithful admiral, Edgar Galvez as faithful purser, Emilio Galvez as faithful pilot, Fernando Gososo as faithful scribe, Marlon Catcharo as inside sentinel and trustee for three years Russel Jumagdao.
Fourth degree members served as honor guards at the St. Anne Parish in Sta. Fe, Leyte during the arrival of the relics of St. Therese of Avila, which recently visited the Archdiocese of Palo and on May 22, transferred to the St. Rita Parish in Sta. Rita, Samar for a fiesta Mass.
“We will strengthen members of the fourth degree in the Archdiocese of Palo and support the archdiocese [in] its church activities and programs as we are mandated to support the Church,” stressed Dapon.
The fourth degree of the Knights of Columbus is the said fraternal order’s highest rank.
