St. Anthony de Padua relic for veneration at Veritas chapel

A first class relic of Saint Anthony de Padua will be on display next week at the chapel of Radio Veritas.

The relic is “ex cute,” or from the skin of one of the Catholic Church’s most popular saints.

Devotees may visit the chapel at the second floor of Veritas Tower, West Avenue corner EDSA in Quezon City and venerate the relic from 6am to 8pm on Sunday until June 13, the saint’s feast day.

St. Anthony de Padua, also referred to as Anthony of Lisbon, was a Portuguese Catholic priest of the Franciscan order and is the most celebrated saint of the followers of St. Francis of Assisi.

Also known as the patron saint for the recovery of lost items, St. Anthony was canonized by Pope Pope Gregory IX on May 30, 1232, 11 months after his death.

It is said that he was one of the most-quickly canonized saints in church history. Niceforo Vince A. Balbedina IIII/CBCPNews
