Nine members of the Jesuit Residence community at the Ateneo de Manila University in Quezon City had tested positive for Covid-19.
The university made the announcement on March 31.
It said that strict protocols, which include isolation and quarantine, are being implemented at the residence.
Contact tracing is also being done, the Ateneo said.
The community did not name the residents infected and requested that their wish for privacy be respected.
“We continue to call on everyone to pray for the infected for their speedy recovery and for the safety of those living inside the university campus,” it said.
The university also asked for continued prayers “to grant all of us the strength, courage, and perfect trust in the Lord to see these challenges through”.
The Jesuit residence was earlier placed under lockdown after Fr. Emerito Salustiano “Salty” dela Rama, who died on March 24, was found to have been infected with Covid-19 only after his death.
Dela Rama, the headmaster of the Ateneo de Manila Grade School, died at the age of 60.
