Acclaimed BYU Chamber Orchestra to hold benefit concert for Caritas Manila
The renowned Brigham Young University (BYU) Chamber Orchestra brings music to life for Filipino audiences in a benefit concert at the Meralco Theatre in Pasig City on Tuesday, May 16.
All proceeds will be donated to the Caritas Manila to support its various social services and development programs for the poor.
Fr. Anton Pascual, executive director of Caritas Manila, invites everyone to support the cause and enjoy “a night of music and charity”.
“Please support the BYU Chamber Orchestra concert as a way of help also the people in need that Caritas Manila supports,” Pascual said.
Conducted by Prof. Kory Katseanes, the elite ensemble consists of approximately 47 of finest musicians in the BYU Philharmonic who come from all over the world to pursue music.
The chamber orchestra is expected to perform a variety of classical music, including traditional orchestral works and with guest performer Tim Pavino, a Filipino singer who rose to fame on The Voice Philippines.
The widely-acclaimed ensemble represents BYU and the School of Music through international and national tours and has performed in the US, Europe, and China.
It is also known as one of the most widely-traveled orchestras in the US and has earned the “Highest Recommendation” rating by the National Endowment of the Arts.
