BCBP marks 18 years of ‘bringing Christ to the market place’

Highlighting the Brotherhood of Christian Businessmen and Professionals (BCBP)’s initiatives to bring Christ “to the market place,” BCBCP Tacloban chapter president Atty. Joseph N. Escalano headed the celebration of the group’s 18th anniversary on Sept. 8.

He specifically cited  the establishments of various BCBP chapters in the provinces of Leyte, Samar, Biliran, and Southern Leyte during the group’s 18 years of existence in this city.

Escalano noted the various accomplishments and gains of the BCBP in “bringing Jesus Christ to to the market place” and private and government offices through its evangelization work.

To mark the event, the group celebrated the Holy Eucharist and had a breakfast program at Hotel Alejandro in this city.

Escalano also calls on businessmen and professionals to join the BCBP, noting an increased number of women joining the BCBP.

The BCBCP has also set up missions in Guiuan, Eastern Samar, and Abuyog, Leyte to promote evangelization work in the business setting by advocating the “Be Honest” program and by giving of assistance to less fortunate people in the said areas and in Naval, Biliran which was recently hit by Typhoon Urduja.

The BCBP Tacloban chapter will also be divided into two chapters starting January next year to accommodate its membership which has grown to more than 200 members.
