CBCP seeks entries for songwriting contest

MANILA – Can you string words and melodies into a song? The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines is looking for you.

Entries are now being accepted for the 2018 Year for Clergy and Consecrated Persons songwriting competition.

The competition is open to songwriters of all musical genres and styles nationwide as long as the entry falls into the category of sacred religious music and can be used for Church services.

Compositions must be original, must not have been previously commercially released, and must adhere to the theme “Renewed Servant-Leaders for the New Evangelization”.

Songs must be three and a half minutes only or shorter, and will be judged based on melody, lyrics which must be in English, musicality, and over-all impact.

Entries should be emailed to cbcpecmr.amrsp@gmail.com in MP3 format and must not exceed 10MB.

Lyrics and lyric sheet should be submitted online via www.moveonlang.ph in .doc format.

The winning piece will become the theme song of 2018 Year of Clergy and Consecrated Persons.

Entries close on Oct. 1, 2017.
