CBCP vocation ministry exec dies of heart attack

Father Joel Francis Victorino, Executive Secretary of the bishops’ Commission on Vocations, has died. He was 51.

Victorino died Wednesday morning at Marikina Valles Hospital, the Diocese of Antipolo said in a statement.

The diocese’s website reported the priest succumbed to cardiac arrest and kidney complications.

A product of San Carlos Seminary in Makati City, Victorino was ordained priest in September 2000.

At the time of his death, the priest was the pastor of the parish of the Immaculate Conception in Cainta, Rizal, and vocations director of the Antipolo diocese.

Starting tonight, his remains will lie in state at the Immaculate Conception Parish, Vista Verde, Cainta, Rizal.

He will laid to rest at Himlayang Katoliko in Antipolo City on April 16 after the 9am funeral Mass at his parish.
