The Roman Catholic Diocese of Cubao is warning the faithful of a man calling himself a “Catholic bishop”.
The man, Mark Robinson Bunag, is reportedly celebrating masses in communities within the jurisdiction of Cubao diocese.
However, the diocese said that he is not a Roman Catholic, and instead belongs to a group called “Catholic Church of the East”.
Fr. Frederick Edward Simon, chancellor of the Cubao diocese, said that the man is also not listed in the latest Catholic Directory of the Philippines.
“After diligent research and verification, it was established that he does not belong to the Roman Catholic Church,” he said.
