The fear of the spread of the corona virus, now named COVID-19, is affecting our lives, not only our entertainments and our travels, but also our church activities.

We need to be fully warned and armed everytime we pick up nowadays a newspaper, or listen to talk shows on TV and read through the many postings on the social media.

The 2019 n-Corona Virus is now the concern all over the world. It has spread so fast. It was detected only last December in Wuhan China and already it has infected 17,480 people in 15 countries causing 362 deaths…

To borrow from Charles Dickens’ A Tale of Two Cities, “it was the best of times, it was the worst of times.”

Our bishops have declared the Year 2020 as the Year of Ecumenism, Interreligious Dialogue, and Indigenous People. This is part of the preparation for the celebration of the 5th centennial of the Christianization of our country in 2021.

We need to process this basic truth of faith about ourselves, channeling and assimilating it into our very consciousness and instincts, because we often take this essential aspect of our identity for granted.

We cannot deny that there are many scandals around that can rob us of our desire to do constructive things, often nipping it in the bud.
