VALENZUELA City – The world renowned Philippine Madrigal Singers, “The Madz”, entertained the faithful during a one-night musical concert held at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima in Marulas in this city, April 1, Saturday.

Organized by the Parish Fiesta Committee 2017, the Fatima Centennial Celebration Committee, and the Fatima Grand Chorale, the concert is part of the celebration of the centennial of the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima.

In an interview, Jilson Tio, chairman of the Fatima Centennial Celebration Committee, said the objective of the concert is to promote the “festive dimension” of the centennial. According to him, the proceeds of the concert will help in the construction of the proposed Fatima Centennial Building.

Under the direction of Mark Anthony Carpio, the Madrigal Singers performed a variety of songs from Filipino and international folksongs to classical and popular music. Also included in their repertoire were liturgical songs dedicated to the Blessed Virgin.

Likewise, the Fatima Grand Chorale, under the guidance of Warlito Yalung, showcased their talents in honor of their patroness.

Meanwhile, Tio invited the faithful and Marian devotees to join the Fatima Centennial activities. The National Pilgrim Image of Fatima will visit the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Sallete in Silang, Cavite from April 23 to 25. CBCPNews
