
Fr. Larry Faraon, a Catholic media icon, dies at 64

Father Laureano “Larry” Faraon, a Catholic media icon in the Philippines, died on Sunday.
He was 64.
Radio Veritas said in a statement that the veteran radio anchor succumbed to pneumonia at about 3:06 a.m. at a hospital in Quezon City.
The priest’s passing happened 22 days after his birthday.
Fr. Faraon was ordained a Dominican priest in 1983, and served the Dominican Order for some years until he was incardinated to the Prelature of Batanes in March 2009.
Bishop Danilo Ulep of Batanes expressed his sadness upon hearing the death of Fr. Faraon, who formerly hosted the Family Rosary Crusade.
“I ask everyone that in the midst of grief and sorrow let us be one in asking the Lord for comfort and consolation, to give strength to the bereaved family of Fr. Larry,” Ulep said said Radio Veritas.
Fr. Faraon was program manager of Radio Veritas at the time of the 1986 EDSA people power revolt. He hosted Sunday radio program “Healing Touch” until his death.
He was last heard at Radio Veritas on June 15 where he officiated Mass live on-air and online.
