The Philippine branch of an international media company is offering Catholics a free spiritual resource online in this time of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Assumptionist Fr. Bernard Holzer, General Manager of Bayard Philippines, said a digital copy of the May 2020 issue of “Living with Christ” missal has been made available online for free.

“Bayard has decided to put Living with Christ missal online and offer it to the sick, the frontliners, and all Catholics confined at their respective homes,” Fr. Holzer said.

He explained the organization has been addressing “new challenges” because of the pandemic, with their regular operations and productions hampered because of the strict quarantine.

Ready to encourage and console everyone in hard times like the current pandemic, LWC is a daily and a perfect spiritual companion that guides the faithful through prayers and Mass readings each day.

Rooted deeply in the Filipino Catholic tradition, the May 2020 Issue highlights the following:

    • Prayer for Vocation as the World Day of Prayer for Vocation is on May 3
    • Liturgical Calendar of May 20200
    • Praying with Scripture entitled Peace In Time Of COVID-19. The article gives a spring board for reflection about how to find peace during the pandemic
    • Our Local Church entitled “A Love Only a Mother Can Give” that features a beautiful story of a mother’s love to her son. Mother’s Day is on May 10
    • Reflection for Good Shepherd Sunday, which is on May 3
    • Reflection on the Ascension and World Communication Sunday that features the missionary dimension of the Catholic faith.
    • Texts of Jesus by Fr. Holzer which is perfect for personal reflection
    • Pope Francis’ Encyclical for Vocation
    • Excerpt of the Pope’s Homily during the Urbi et Orbi 2020

Because of the lockdown, Catholics are deprived of the sacraments. But Fr. Holzer exhorts the faithful to greater spiritual growth: “We form the same family, the same followers and lovers of the Word of God.”

“Let us meditate together on His Word, feel His tender presence among us, and form a community by praying and helping each other,” he added.

The hardcopy of LWC normally costs Php85.00 per issue.
