The San Agustin Church in Manila’s Intramuros district appealed for aid to help the victims of a devastating fire that left a thousand families homeless.
This as the Augustinian-run church continued their relief operation to help the displaced families in the city’s Port Area.
“Our brothers and sisters in the Port Area are in need of clothing, water and food,” the parish said in a brief statement posted on its Facebook page.
For those who would like to help, it said that cash or in-kind donations can be dropped off at the parish office.
Monetary donations can also be deposited at their bank account. The details are:
Eastwest Bank (Intramuros Branch)
Account Name: Immaculate Conception Parish
Account Number: 200001814598/200025814494
The May 26 fire damaged several houses made of light materials in Pier 15, which is still under the parish’s pastoral jurisdiction.
At least one man died in the blaze, and the damage to property was placed at P3 million.
