
Marian confab to focus on Fatima apparitions

MANILA – The annual Marian Encounter Seminars (MES) slated for May 28, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Tan Yan Kee Student Center of the University of Santo Tomas in this city will focus on the Fatima apparitions, including two other notable topics.
The session on the “Apparitions: Mary’s Presence and the Signs of the Times” will highlight the Blessed Mother’s apparitions to three children, Jacinta, Francisco, and Lucia in Fatima, Portugal, a hundred years ago.
The two other topics are: “Mary’s Role in God’s Plan of Salvation” and “True Devotion to Mary.”
Mary among Christians
Having been regularly organized by the Missionaries of Mary (MOM) for the past 20 years, the conference will feature Marian priests Fr. Tereso Campillo, OP, Fr. Efren Rivera, OP, and Fr. Benjie Notarte of the Montfort Missionaries, who will all expound on the theme “Welcoming Mary Into One’s Life.”
MOM head Jorge T. Pascual with another member and some friends will be visiting Fatima, Portugal to join the Church’s celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Fatima apparitions.
Canonization of seers
In an interview with CBCPNews, Pascual said, “I feel so excited with our trip to Fatima since Pope Francis will be there to canonize the visionary saints of Fatima.”
A Eucharistic celebration to be presided over by Fr. Erik Adoviso, parish priest of the Holy Trinity Parish in Sampaloc, Manila, will conclude the event, which is co-presented by Radio Veritas (846 AM).
