Parish to mark 38 years with ‘Colorburst 2017’
QUEZON City – Bring out your running shoes! Not your usual parish activity, Colorburst 2017, a five-kilometer community run, is set on Sept. 23 to mark St. Paul the Apostle Parish’s 38th year.
The public is invited to join COLORBURST 2017, in which runners can expect to be blasted with colored powder at different stations, making for a fun experience.
To register for slots, interested parties may visit the Kairos Youth Ministry members at the COLORBURST booth located by the main entrance of St. Paul the Apostle Parish. Registration fee for individual runners is Php 500, while groups of five can get a special price of Php 2000. The booth is open on Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Now on its third year, COLORBURST, which will pass along Scout Santiago, Barangay Laging Handa, Quezon City, aims to recreate a fiesta spirit as the event will also feature favorite Pinoy games like luksong-tinik, patintero, and a festive after-party.
Apart from sustaining its activities, the Kairos Youth Ministry is also adding a new goal for this year’s run–to raise funds for the parish’s renovation.
Kairos Yuppies, a sub-group of the Kairos Youth Ministry composed of young professionals, launched COLORBURST in 2015 to support parish pastoral council activities and projects of the youth.
Everyone can register for the fun run, not just the regular parishioners. Even professionals in the area are invited since the parish is near business establishments and offices.
