The country’s largest association of Catholic schools elected Father Albert Delvo of the Diocese of Novaliches as its new head.

Delvo will replace Religious of the Virgin Mary (RVM) Sr. Marissa Viri as the president of the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP).

Viri led the CEAP for three terms of three years.

Delvo, Superintendent of the Diocesan Schools of Novaliches, was CEAP’s Treasurer before he was elected to the top position.

The CEAP also reelected Claretian Fr. Mauricio Ulep, Director of Claret School of Quezon City, as its vice president.

The election took place on October 19 during the CEAP board’s organizational meeting at the sidelines of the association’s national convention in Cebu City.

The other elected officers were La Salle Br. Edmundo Fernandez as Treasurer and Fr. Wilmer Joseph Tria, the president of the Catholic Education Association of Caceres and Libmanan, as corporate secretary.

Founded in 1941, CEAP is the national association of Catholic educational institutions in the Philippines. It now has more than 1,500 member schools.
