PPCRV to voters: Beat registration deadline

MANILA— With only four days left, a Church-backed poll watchdog called on the public to beat the deadline for voters’ registration and have their say in the upcoming polls.

The Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) said a citizen who is not yet a registered voter must make use of the remaining time to register for the village and youth council elections in October.

“My appeal is for qualified voters to meet the deadline to register,” said PPCRV national chairperson Rene Sarmiento.

“One single vote is important and can spell a big difference: victory or defeat for good and able candidates,” he said.

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has earlier reminded the public of the April 29 deadline, adding that they are unlikely to extend the ongoing voter registration.

The poll body has also been conducting satellite registration activities all over the country to boost its efforts. CBCPNews
