Archbishop Socrates Villegas of Lingayen-Dagupan kisses the coffin containing the cremated remains of his predecessor, Archbishop Oscar Cruz, at the St. John the Evangelist Cathedral in Dagupan City on Wednesday evening. Archbishop Cruz died on Aug. 26 due to complications from the coronavirus disease. He will be interred at the Santuario de San Juan Evangelista following a 9:00 a.m. funeral Mass at the cathedral on Aug. 28.
