
Technological challenges of parenting tackled in talk

The Students of St. Alphonsus Theological and Mission Institute (SATMI) organized on March 18, Sunday, a half-day talk for parents and youth in the Basic Ecclesial Communities (BECs), focusing on the theme “Parenting Millennials and the role of the Church”.
“We see [now] an even urgent and deeper need that needs to be considered by our people, specially now [with] the reality about what we call the technological advancements,” said Br. Marthy John Silubrico, CSsR, chairman of the Pastoral Committee, in Bisaya.
He added that these technologies have a “big impact” on the family, in terms of communication, relationship, between parents and their children.
Fr. Jessel Gerald “JBoy” M. Gonzales, SJ of the Ateneo de Davao University Senior High School facilitated an open discussion on the topic where participants also shared their experiences and views as millennials and as parents from an older generation.
Nearly 150 participants attended this year’s talk organized by the Saint Alphonsus Theological and Mission Institute (SATMI) at the Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish, Bajada Davao City.
