QUEZON City– Amid a background of Christian worship music, thousands of young people were reminded of the immensity of God’s perfect love for every person.

“God is always going after us. God is so passionate about us. …[S]ometimes, we forget the depth and the magnitude of the extent of God’s love,” said Mik Flores of the Lord’s Flock, who led one of the worship sessions during Jesuit Communications (JesCom) One Praise 2 concert held Saturday at the Bellarmine Field in Ateneo de Manila University.

According to lay preacher, whose son Erin shared later in the evening, God Himself seeks a relationship with every person. “He is searching for that relationship. not a one-sided relationship,” she added.

Flores quickly noted that the worship concert itself is predicated on having a personal relationship with Jesus. “Worship is really about our relationship with our God. Even without the music, even without the band we can worship God.”

God’s persistent love for humanity, she explained, is similar to Hosea the prophet’s faithfulness to Gomer, his adulterous wife.

She said to thousands of attendees coming from various covenanted Catholic communities gathered at the event that God commanded Hosea to “go after [Gomer]” despite her obvious unfaithfulness.

“Even if we turn away from God, God is going after us. [He says]: ‘I don’t care what you’ve done, I just want to love you,’” stressed Flores.

Co-presented by CFC Ablaze Communications, One Praise concert featured worship sessions led by several communities and music ministries including Living Hope/David Ministry, Liveloud, LOJ Feast Worship, and Where’s the Sheep. CBCPNews
