Two years after the gruesome murder of Fr. Richmond Nilo, his diocese continues to fight for justice.

Masses were offered in all parishes of the Cabanatuan diocese on Wednesday on the second anniversary of Fr. Nilo’s “brutal death”.

In a Facebook post, the diocese renewed its call for justice for the priest who “inspired us to love and defend our Catholic faith passionately”.

“We continue to pray that justice may be rightfully served for him,” the brief statement read.

Fr. Nilo was well known for his passion about apologetics or in defending the Catholic doctrines.

Fr. Robert Dela Cruz of the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Nuestra Señora de las Saleras in Aliaga town hinted that Fr. Nilo’s killing may be linked with his being an apologist.

“We all know his passion in defending our faith,” Fr. Dela Cruz said during Mass today.

He urged Catholics to also pray for persecuted Christians in other parts of the world and defend their faith.

“We need to speak and stand up especially when our faith is trampled upon,” Fr. Dela Cruz said.
